Today Britain looks set to leave the EU. The process could take 2 years, however during the campaign and with the Leave result of the referendum, with the Bible in hand there is little surprise at the result. Ezekiel 38 refers to a great battle in the last days, which will ultimately result in God's Kingdom being established on the earth with the Lord Jesus Christ reigning as king. It is a glorious age to come when there will be true peace and plenty on the earth. In Ezekiel's prophecy a confederacy of nations is mentioned: "Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal" are the ancient names refering to what we know now as Russia, and "Gomer and all its troops" refers to European countries. This prophecy shows a great confederacy of nations, including Russia & Europe invading Israel: But they will be opposed: Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’ (Ezekiel 38:13 NKJV) Sheba & Dedan are the Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, the merchants of Tarshish and the young lions are Britain and the nations that came from it (US, Australia, Canada and the Commonwealth countries). There is a lot of evidence in the Bible that Tarshish refers to Britain. Britain does not stand with Europe and Russia in this last great battle and so it is of little surprise that we have seen that Britain has voted to leave the European Union. This means that the stage is set, with clear signs of the imminent return of Christ to the earth. We are watching closely now at world events, with our Bibles in our hands. After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword andgathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. (Ezekiel 38:8 NKJV)
