Read the Bible every day!

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and
perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2, NKJV)

Our salvation depends on bringing our minds into harmony with God – how He thinks, how He feels, what is important to Him. Believing the Gospel is only the beginning. It takes a lifetime of tireless effort to achieve.

Naturally, the mind is estranged from God and all His ideas (Romans 8:7; 1 Corinthians 2:14).Transforming it to reflect God does not happen all at once. The only way is to busily apply ourselves to what God has provided for this very purpose – the Scriptures of Truth. Our minds need to be brought into line with the mind of the Spirit as we see it in those writings.

A spiritual mind can only grow with us through daily contact with God’s mind unfolded in His word. Away from this, the mind will return to its natural emptiness. If we are anxious about our salvation, the only answer is – read the Bible every day!

Our success will be in proportion to the effort we invest. Diligent sowing will be rewarded with a rich harvest. In the natural world, fruit will only grow in the right conditions. In the same way, spiritual fruit can only grow through the influence of the spirit in the Word.

The Bible Companion has been designed to help Bible readers do this. By following this plan consistently from year to year, the reader will greatly benefit. Gradually the blandness of the natural mind will be replaced by the warm and exalted tone of the Spirit’s teaching.

Based on Robert Robert’s original Preface to The Bible Companion – a useful planner enabling the reading of the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice over the course of a year.

We also have the Daily Readings links on our website which open up each portion of the readings from the Bible Companion, you can read or listen to each of the readings by coming back here every day! The links are on the right on every page of the website.
